The smoke continues...
Have been spending my past few evenings in smokey rooms trying to shoot the amazing shapes and forms created by smokes. How does it work?

There are a lot of techniques for shooting smoke. The ideal scenario is to set up an external flash trigger but I made a simple set up for these images. In a dark room, I used halogen bulbs to light up the smoke (emerging from incense sticks) from different angles. Ensuring that the background is pitch dark, I allowed the smoke to settle down and used a table spoon to tap on the thin streak of smoke emerging out of the incense sticks to trigger some interesting smoke formations.

The images were then taken to photoshop for some gradient coloring and the final outcomes were very interesting.

Presenting another image from my smoke series...

Loved the effect Shivang. Thanks for sharing the technique. Wish it were related to nature though!

Shivang: as Ganesh says this is far far away from "creative nature photography" forum.
