Behind a Curtain
This western reef egret was using the net which is spread vertically like a fence to catch the fish between high tide and low tide. This structure made things easy for this one to catch fish which were trapped on the other side of the net, easy pickings helped by man.

What a perspective VMR ! Amazing.. At first I was tempted to suggest cropping a few pixels off at the top till the rod to which net is tied, but then it may give feel of the captivity. Fine seeing here, very creative image in my books. Has that photojournalism feel that you mention. Thanks for sharing.

great perspective here, vijay. the inclusion of net with top-left blank triangle made all very interesting as ganesh pointed out. the pose of the heron is also little unusual, complimenting the whole image and i think, the horizontal piece of thread across the bottom-left helps to balance the interestingness in whole frame. simply wonderful composition, very much of my personal taste!

thanks for sharing. regards.

Hello Vijay,

An interesting and creative image. A very pleasing composition with the elements positioned very effectively. My only criticism is the gradient of sharp focus from the right side of the image (very sharp) to the left (much softer focus) - for me this detracts slightly from my enjoyment of what you have produced.

Thank you for sharing this image...

Brilliant VMR, I must agree that the empty space to the top left of the image is the key here. If it weren't for that it would have given a "behind the cage" feel. Also a very good example for man-animal symbiotic relationship
