Of late I have seen so many tiger portraits but this is special Rajarshi ! Shadow beautifully relects its character ! Love those ripples too. Wish the edges of the frames being clean but then it is nature - we take what we get. I think non-black frame (or no frame) goes better with this image (just my view). A bit more space around would have enhanced the feel. However seeing is very evident in this - a unique image indeed. Thanks for sharing.

this is one of the best tiger images i've seen in the near past.....fantastic vision sir....the best part in this images is the ripples which give movement to the image .....

WOW! What a picture! Simply brilliant! Its a very different and unique picture for sure, a far cry from the "conventional" tiger portraits. I guess you could have cloned out the grass at the top of the frame. But apart from that its a winner all the way.

The temptation to shoot a tiger is very very large especially for those who live in the southern part of India, you have moved away from that and infact capture an image which can easily be a benchmark for making creative images of the tiger. The pose and the ripples and the clutter of a forest stream convey a sense of being there and also convey the enigmatic nature of the tiger. This is superb seeing, I wish there was more allround space in the frame.

I simply love the ripples here. Giving a different dimension to this image. lil bit wider cud have made it even better is the only thing I can say. Where was this, ur hometown Kanha ? This trip ? A very very different tiger image, gr8.

Thank you for your views folks! This is the shadow of the male tiger who is the new king of the Kanha meadow and was taken last Friday i.e. 05.12.2008. I had the Nikon 300mm f2.8 Vr in my hand and got just a few seconds to make this image before the tiger moved on. So I did not get the chance to make a wide angle image or even a different placement of the shadow within the frame. I could not also experiment with smaller apertures. But I am confident that I shall again get a chance with the tiger soon to try other creative options. Wish me Luck!
