I made this image during my initial days of photography when I didn't know post processing. I was shooting in high quality JPEGs and it was sigma
50-500. We were driving back home after a morning birding session when someone by the side of the road shouted at us and we stopped. They said there were elephants there. When I saw them, I was stunned. the giants were walking up the hill with the little ones! I couldn't believe that such a magnificent being can walk up the hill, that too in such a narrow path. Though it was a 500 mm lens, I shot this at 50 mm to get a feel as to how my eyes was visualizing it. Wish I could do a better job then, lack of inexperience showed at that time. I still keep this in my archives to cherish those moments.

I was reading "I am not certain whether my image meets..." post by Ganesh and remembered this image. I feel I saw it differently here, opting for shooting at 50mm rather than 500. May be I could have done better, but as I said, it was my initial days of photography.

Let me know your thoughts...

Pramod, I like this image for its abstract realistic qualities. There was an art movement called abstract realism where artists produced abstractions out of realistic subjects. This one is real yet I see some abstractions and also a kind of painting like effect. There seem to be order in the right side of the frame and a bit chaotic on the left side - but then your focus was on those tiny elephants moving up the hill :)

This is nice Pramod considering you hid it for sometime I really like the feel here. Two things could be tinkered with
1. A little CCW rotation.
2. Increase the tonality of the image so that the landscape is crisp.

Pramod, Though you say that "Wish I could do a better job then, lack of inexperience showed at that time", what i want to say is you have executed it really well. Its a general tendency to show it very close but his sort of "human vision" perspective is something which we see very rarely. If the oppertunity permits you might want to increase the tonal ranges of the image through some basic adjustments.

Simply one of your best images for me.... The distribution of the colors in the frame, the greens, the yellows and the pinks and the dark brownish ground and the path created by walking everything add up and create a dramatic effect on the viewer and the huge elephants looks so small in the frame which portray the messege that nothing in really big in the Nature!

Pramod,
To come up with such an image you do not need to know photography, it's just your inner visualisation. Photography is one of the media to bring it real world. Your visualisation is great here and well captured.

Terrific image, Pramod. You've got a bird's eye perspective without shooting this from a helicopter. :-) I love this picture for the depiction of the habitat and for the way in which animals as enormous as elephants are made so insignificant and inconspicuous, that one needs to search to find them in the frame. The way the path runs across and up the image makes this picture for me. Superb!

The textued look to the pic makes it all the more interesting.. ofcourse other than the fact that the subject being so big yet seen so small here makes the pic brilliant..
