Swamp Deer in Mist
Tried to do some, leading the eye here. Does it work ? What about the clump of grass on the right, better without it ?

Shot from elephant back.

Comments appreciated.

This is a fine setting, reminds me of Kalyan Varma's deer in the mist image. I think the grass obstructs with the mood and I would love to see the deer facing towards the camera, or even with the deer facing away it should be leading into the frame here it tends to wander because the main deer is looking away past the mid-point in the frame. I would love to see some experimentation with manual WB on settings like this.

Fantastic capture Krishnan! The mood is well captured and the random arrangement of these deers are just amazing. Gives a feel of an 'ancient forest' to me. Excellent execution!

Krish, what you mean by leading the eye here ? Kind of like the quality of light here. Clump of grass works for me taste. It adds depth to the image in my view. Thanks for sharing..

I also agree with Pramod's view above - "ancient view". Image seem to have a special tone.

Krish this image again is a killer. I would keep the grass on the right as well. Adds to the image no doubt. I too would want to know whats leading the eye ? :).

Thanks everyone for your comments.

Vijay, I tried warming the image but somehow liked the cool fog rendition better for my taste.

When I meant leading the eye, I meant : If you look at the centre deer in the foreground, that subject is looking at the two deers ahead of it and from there, the eye follows to the set of deers behind & turning to the right. So the my eye is naturally lead thru a path traversing the area of the image. In a way connect the dots system. Thats what I meant by "leading the eye".
