Craving for light
After "Moss Intimacy", I was yearning to process this image. Just outside the cave, I saw this scene and my mind was literally reeling. The mood and light was ecstatic coupled with dampness of typical western ghats. As I entered the cave, I was stunned to see that the tree was actually rooted there!

If you thought what you see to the right of the frame( in moss intimacy) - that looks like a tree bark was a rock - you are wrong. It's actually a tree whose branches "craves" for the light and has emerged out of a slit and has grown as big as you see in this image. Inexplicable is nature's creation.

This is another step ( rather an attempt!) towards creative image making. Thanks in advance for your views.

I kind of like the hidden-in-womb feel of the little green branch against contrasting dark bark. May be opening up the entire image some more will add to it Pramod. Thanks for sharing..

"Hidden-in-womb" - wow! What a metaphor Ganesh! Just love the way you have translated the pixels to words! Thanks for the suggestion. I just reprocessed it and here is another version with shadows opened up -

Hope the repost works lot better.

Pramod, i like the way the green leaves popup in this image against the dark BG. I guess that conveys you message appropriately. IMO, composition wise, you could have moved the branches to the right avoiding them being cutoff on the LHS. I agree with Ganesh that opening it up a wee bit (not as much as in the repost) helps. Couple of those whitespots could be toned down or cleaned up too. BTW, both of your images and Ashwin's are making me homesick;-( TFS.

I like this variant better Pramod. I always prefer images which give the viewer an opportunity to imagine. The modified version is all laid out in the open, this seems just about right for my taste. I like the blacks and the sense of depth they signify. Loved Ganesh's metaphor too. :)
