the great gig in the sky
that day i was too late ... 'n suddenly realized that i never tried zoom-burst ... so here is the result from my first experiment. this mystique feel goes very well with the way i feel about any baobab tree.

thank you for critiques and ratings. regards.

Hmm . . . typical of Nevilji's composition. This is a very nice abstract and the zoom burst complements well with the dead branches. I love the B&W version more than the color one. Beautiful.

The burst is perfect, could the tree be straightened Nevil ? A little more contrast too perhaps ? Just imagining. Nowdo I have to tell you it's brilliant as ever :).

thanks for the comments & suggestions.

@nilanjan,
i kept it tilted to avoid more blank 'n bright space at bottom-left area which makes rightside much heavier and leftside less interesting. there are lots of tall vegetation on the floor, so going down would have added lots of clutter. regarding contrast, i don't have a clue as since long i am working on bad monitor and relying much on histogram. as such adding more contrast takes away the mystic feel, i remained over-cautious during pp.

here, it is very interesting to note that all canon 17-55mm lens has very rough zoom ring and they pauses at somewhere in-between, no matter how you try ... that resulted in much like double exposure, multiplying the branches - i think, butter-smooth perfect lens would not have made it look this better!

regards.

Emanating pattern of the burst makes this image for me. As you said I avoiding multiple exposure feel would have added a lot Nevil. Thanks for sharing. Nice to know that your browser issues are resolved..

Loved this zoom burst, Nevil. I felt addition of a little bit of contrast while retaining the misty atmosphere would enhance the impact of the image. I gave it a try and posted my take in the illustration forum. Hope you didn't mind me tweaking with your image. Let me know your views. TFS.
