Insects over water
A swarm starts occupying surfaces of water bodies. Very difficult to comprehend on web presentation. Hope it reaches across.

An amazing perspective here VMR, looks like floating pearls and appears perfect in every way. The glow of them may make it a good candidate for B&W conversion too if you like them. Thanks for sharing..

Absolute art it is! I have been admiring this image since yesterday thinking what to write here and am still unable to figure it out. Just reminds of me initial days of CNP where "MaLe" image of yours was on the cover. It was a nice 'sabbatical' for you I guess, if only I am permitted to say so, from your 'signature seeing' and now that you are back with this image, I am just waiting for more images from you when you are in the same 'zone' :)

Print it big sir!!

truly this is one of the best natural history image seen recently sir.....really contemporary visual by all standards.....the muted colours are excellent....even a b&w conversion would work well i feel...

Now who would have even thought of going over a still pool of stagnant water with swarming flies and come out with a winner image like this?
This is an awesome example for textures in Nature, very well seen and brilliant execution with all the flies in tack sharp focus. Would love to see it big some day! And am glad we can appreciate such works much better with the increased image size limit on CNP. I can almost feel the smooth texture of the water and the smooth bumps in the form of flies.
Thanks for Seeing this sir !

An absolute brilliant image this is! The tiny specs of those insects on that smooth and calm water surface is looking amazing. The muted colors are giving it amazing feel. Over all a sure winner! Thanks a bunch for sharing this across.

An excellent image with amazing perspective. Sure a great natural history moment. When I saw this I immediately remembered you 'MaLe' image. When you see this image continuously and insects starts moving :-)

mind-boggling pattern, vmrji. love the hint of flashlight that made all the difference ... like scattered gems across the diffused sky! wonderful 'seeing' and great execution.

regards.

Very unique image VMR. The thumbnail hardly does justice! And when I opened it, Whoa!
