Storm
Weather changes in minutes in Golden Gate Canyon Park, CO. With this sudden snow storm, I tried to get streaks of snow with slow shutter sitting in my car.
Colour image, just level adjust and slight sharpening in Gimp. Love to know your thoughts.

After this image when I started moving up the hill, my 2 Wheel drive car started slipping, I had to give up because there was no one to help immediately in that heavy snow.

Lovely image here Shankarji. Flakes can be indeed very slippery, keep a pair of dog chains to tie around the tyres, it helped me a lot to get traction in the smoky mountains :). Feeling nostalgic about a whole lot of things which happened in the past :).

Great results with simple techniques here, I love the streaks and the gradient from fg to bg.

I feel adding contrast gives a different mood to the image. It basically will make the streaks more prominent.

Beautiful and artistic perspective here Shankar. The sketchy streaks does make the image here. May be adjusting the mid-tone contrast just a bit (retaining the current muted mood) may help bring out more details in the high key areas at the top. Thanks for sharing Shankar..

This is brilliant and truly artistic for my taste buds. The diagonal flakes of snow and the feel of the storm are amazing. I feel enhancing the bright white part a tad more and some contrast adjustment will make the impact better.

This came up on Random Reveals ... it has to be one of the most enduring images for me here. and the back story is equally compelling. the pencil sketch, the lightness of it, the feeling of sleet/snow/storm ... all beautifully come together ... and then you see the row behind ... and you wonder, is there more even further off? A wonderfully "open" image, for me.

thanks!
