Macro-scape, an attempt
For long I wanted to try this, certainly not easy, I will stick to my stand that if the subject is more than 10 cms, then worth going for, here two butterflies made it something close to the threshold to pull it off. Cropped a little from top and bottom to balance comp.

I agree with you VMR on the note of the size of the subject in the case of Macro-scape. I liked the feel of the forest in the image. The wetness on the rock adds well to the mood. A little more DoF would have added is what I feel. However I am not sure about the conditions there as photographing inside the forest is never an easy task and that too trying for a macro-scape with butterflies would surely deserve a bow from my side. ^^

I know its not at all easy on compos like this. I liked the way the Yellow stands out against the darker color of the rocks. I am just imagining a shot if there were either facing each other or were mud puddling in huge numbers it would have been more interesting. But again, we take and nature gives

Yes VMR, wide angle macro is always a challenge. I am just thinking of Tilt-shift lens for this purpose which seem to have very less minimum focus distance compared to traditional wide angle lens. Fuehr the advantage is dof can be controlled more easily to create some selective blurs. Nice perspective here.
