Meditation!
This damselfly was sitting on that stick for more than an hour!

It was there when we arrived and it was still there when we left the place after shooting Gigs of other images!

I think it was truly meditating in that pristine forest of Yana.

This is a great image, I love the macroscape of the image. I would personally add an offshoe fill flash on the dragonfly.

Wow! , amazing Ashwin.
Truly serene. The only distracting thing is that brown twig (is it a twig) between the tail and the wings.
I would love to know what kind of equipment you used. Is it a wide angle lens? Extension tubes? filters?

This is absolute beauty Aswini. Agree with VMR, a little fill up would have been nice but I like this version too :)

just perfect title for the situation, ashwini. somehow, i find the backdrop too distracting to have a zen feeling in the image. love the compo & light here.

regards.

Thanks friends!
@ Prithvi - I always mention the equipments that I have used as the bottom most line of my description. You can find it there. Its 300mm f/4 + 1.4x TC on D300.
Yes that brown twig is distracting to me too. But I was helpless.

@ VMR and Nilajan - That's a great idea. But the situation was not helpful to execute it as this guy was in the middle of the water and this is a full frame image at
420mm, taken from the bridge!

@ Nevil - I agree with you on the zen feel to the image. The bg is a slightly over distracting to feel that. Thanks for your view.

Love this macro scape Ashwin ! Dragonfly stands out nicely against the beautiful water fall in bg. Traces of leaves on top right adds to the frame. You may try sharpening the dragonfly just a bit. Thanks for sharing
