Seeing how other cameras "SEE"
I am a huge fan of experimenting with different image formats. I force myself many a times to experiment from the conventional 3:2 or 4:3 formats. One of my personal favorites is the 16:9 panoramic format for image presentation irrespective of wildlife or landscape or otherwise. Everytime am free and go out for a shoot i try to keep in mind a certain format i want to try out and to realise that i have to make image which can fit into that frame. Its really a challenging thing as you need to visualise how a 16:9 will look like when you are looking through a viewfinder. 2 things that am playing around since a while are the 6x4.5 and the 6x17 panoramic formats. What you find above is the 645 camera format visualisation of an image i shot last weekend at Gopalaswamybetta near Bandipur.
Photography according to me is all about seeing differently. There is no difference between me and the person next to me if we both shoot the same scene and present it in the same way (with a variation in processing only).
The way our eyes moves through the image in such non-standard formats is really interesting thing in itself.

I will be sharing the 6x17 image in a few days - but until then would like to knwo your views on the above image.

Thanks in advance.

Shiv,
Liked the way the rocks lead us into the frame. Only wish there was something more interesting on the the far side (i.e. landscape far off or sky). Tried scrolling down to cover the sky (i.e. cropping off just until below the clouds ) and I found that to be an interesting composition as well.
Certainly well seen and made.

Nice shot Shiva, like the way the rocks create a line in the frame, also the detail in the rock are nice.
The image has a nice depth to it.
Do you think the horizon is a bit tilted?

Wow I like this. Looking at it, the image makes me feel I am standing on a floating mountain with the earth beneath and sky above. Would like to see composition of the same perspective shot from a lower angle. Curious to know how that would look.

Pattern (line) of stone nicely leads here our eyes here Shiv. Subtle contrast on the stone make me think this is a very good candidate for B&W conversion too.

This is amazing! Makes me feel standing next to those stones. :) The play of green & red tones makes this image more interesting! Your experiments are too good! Would love to see more & more of them.......
