Reflections of dead
Had visited this place 4 times but all the 4 times I had failed to make an image of this place. This visit to the western ghats was satisfying w.r.t this place. Just back from the trip and processed this image. There are B&W gurus in this forum and I would urge them to pour in some thoughts on this image.

Thanks in advance for your views, critiques and thoughts.

Pramod you have hit the nail on the head. The Kodasahalli backwaters never looked so inviting. This image brings back great memories for me when I joined the Forest Service my first assignment in Karnataka was to oversee the clearing of the trees because the trees would get submerged . Huge giants had to go and my DCF, happened to have 6 sightings of Black panther during the operations. Now life has come another cycle when the dense bamboo all around reached their climax with their 40 year cycle and has now gone dead. There is a positive side to this dam as well. The present day Dandeli-Anshi Tiger Reserve is on the North Bank and in over 8000 sq kms of forests in Uttara Kannada the only 5 sq km grid which is free from human habitation is on the North Side of the bank, if its exists it is because of the dam which has rendered access difficult.

Sorry for being long on this, now coming to the image, the choice to go B/W is fantastic. I would love some more contrast in the scene.

I would like to keep on watching this PV :). The mood, the place, the tone and just everything connects so deep inside. When are you taking me here ? :) Splendid image. I love the processing here.

Hi Pramod,
It's visual poetry framed. The softness of tones has a tranquilising effect. If I were to pick a shot to show visual analogue of morning raga, I'll pick up this shot.

What a soothing feel it has Pramod! Excellent portrayal of the mood. The only suggestion from my side is the very slight CW rotation to make it tilt-free.

Absolute classy feel to the image. Sublime and Dreamy.
I think you have nailed it bang on in this image.
The B&W conversion and toning also seems fine.
Only nit is that the two bamboo is taking away too much of attention from the entire image.

Nice tonal ranges and beautiful B&W conversion here Pramod. It should make a beautiful large print. Personally I would prefer a little more warmer tones for this morning mood (?). Thanks for sharing.

@VMR We all know your knowledge is tremendous in terms of nature. The story you have written is a revelation to be! Thanks a ton for this information.

@Ganesh, Will definitely try out a warmer tone. After the trip I was more relaxed and hence a cooler tone :D

@Nilanjanji - Anytime. You come down and we can go there :D

@Others. Thanks for your views.
