Habits in a Habitat - The river banks
Borrowing VMRs "My Forest" concept here,

I saw this group of Egrets going for their evening roost when I was atop Jenukal Gudda that evening. Flying along the banks of the Bedti River which skirts the hill in dying light made them stand out bright in an otherwise fast approaching dark world.

Thanks for looking

Hi Harsha,
It's a very bold shot. very bold for it involves decision to take birds a few pixels in size. For me it's that which makes the shot. Personally I would've waited for birds to come closer and become significant part of the composition....but that't would've been a bland shot. This decision of yours to go for the shot as presented goes to show your regard for the visually insignificant.
Just love it. It's like homecoming.

The scale is nice here Harsha. Personally I would have preferred a little more definition on birds and would open the lens further (if possible) to reduce the definition on some of the bg elements, especially coconut tree in the bg which seem to demand some attention. I know .iIt is easier said than done in nature photography :) Thanks for sharing..

Harsha, this reminds me of the typical scenes I visualize of rural India.. when the birds fly back home after day's work...I love the tiny white dots heading back home.. Nice ineffable feel to this image
