Unique image Praveen, The perch and the conversion is good..if this was my image, I would have cropped the eye (bottom 10%) and emphasized only the horn and the bird..

Thanks for sharing this

Interesting image here.
I would have thought about turning my camera 90 degrees and got one eye and perch into frame. Thanks to this wonderful forum where we share such simple compositions and world class images.
About this image, had the other bird was on other stick ? but that is nature.
regards,

all ideas welcome..unfortunately the bird sat there only of a sec...i could shoot 5-6 continuous frames...by the time i changes the composition and the lens focused[it had a 2xtc making focusing slower]it flew off...this fellow has only one eye..has no right eye....

UFF, Praveen!!! This has MASTERPIECE written on every pixel of it!!! This is the epitome of simplicity. When the image was loading, I expected it to stop just below the horns but it went on to show the eye as well and my reaction was mixed. The eye itself I think adds a splendid lot of context and presence and gives the image tremendous impact, but on the other hand some of the simplicity and symmetry of the image are lost, especially because of the second myna on the right. And finally, the conversion to black and white works fabulously!

I hope you've entered this in this year's edition of the BBC competition in the Animal Portraits section, and an alternative version with the bottom cropped out to exclude the eye in the Nature in Black and White category because I humbly think both versions deserve to win and I think they have a great chance! Thank you so much for sharing this extremely stylish image that defines your brand of art.
