Colors of Spring
Decision making while framing an image is really very tricky especially when you are tempted with various focal lenghts in your kitty and the subject is still.

Noticed this small patch of colorful trees across the valley while on the way to Ooty along with fellow CNP'ian Ashwin last weekend. Had the option of shooting the hill from 17mm upto 600mm and found all the compositions pleasing. But found this narrow perspective formed by a 600mm field of view more compelling to my taste especially because of the fact that it isolates the 2 dominant colors from the rest of the hill.

Love to know your views.

You are probably right with your decision of using 600mm. I would gently cut the mid tones to saturate the colors a bit.

nice picture. You may want to visit nandi hills this week to get a similar pictures.
Wondering, if you tried centering jacaranda with other colorful trees around (something like a frame around jacaranda)

I loved the Compression that the Tele has brought, amazing colors.
I also liked the patters that the tree trunks make.

Thanks Ganesh,Vinaya, Prithvi

Ganesh - i did try doing it and as you told it does look punchy. Probably my eyes have been seeing lof ot B&W off late so my sliders were restricted with regard to saturation and contrast control
Vinaya - that sounds like a really nice idea, let me see if i can sneak in a few hours off the weekend and try something out
