Not easy to pull off - especially printable larger version. The tree on the lower left adds a lot. Thanks for sharing Adithya.

Thanks for your kind words Ganesh.
However I am little confused: did you mean its tough to make such images or tough to get it printed??

Tree in the bottom added a lot to the frame.
As i understand, when such images are printed large - one may not get the quality of images as you see on a monitor.
Hence it is tough to make images 'of printable quality'.

best regards,

Nice execution Aditya, shooting a butterfly in air is easier said than done.
is this a full frame shot?

Commentby Ganesh H Shankar on Wed May 25, 2011 7:44 pm

Yes what I meant is what RD wrote above - I meant tough to get a printable image. My past experience shows it is difficult to get the required resolution on the flying subject like butterfly to blow it up to make a print. You may have the required resolution here which is not possible to make out on web.

I think this is an outstanding image. Love the tone, the angle, just about everything. The tree is really adding to this image. Superb.

@ Pruthvi: This is roughly 80% of the frame, because of the square kindof crop i have done.
@ Ganesh and RD: This is a new learning to me!!! As i mentioned this is almost 80% of the full frame image, so the raw file should be good enough pull out the a pretty decent print, i believe. Or may be its time to learn some lesson by printing it!!!
@Nilanjan: I am glad you like it :)

very nice image Adi. The clouds are adding the required drama here. I may increase the contrast on the butterfly a bit to make it pop out a little more. The tree on the right is a nice decision to retain. Thanks for sharing.

That's a nice one Adithya. Having two butterflies in those positions convey the depth well. Flash sync speed of 1/250s plays a spoilsport here i guess: butterfly movement cannot be frozen at this SS and it leaves a trail and blurred edges. I got one at higher SS (and without flash of course) and will post that for review.

absolutely fantastic image, adithya. like the overall execution 'n feel of the scape. that bottom tree makes this dreamy scape, more realistic!

regards.
