Enlightened Painted Stork
This picture was made at Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary. The morning sun rising just above lake, I have got the painted stork at perfect position.
Spent quite a time to get its pose well against the sun, and finally this was it. Converted to BnW.
This image has also reached in semi-final of Voila Wildlife photographer of the year competition for 2011. Hope you ppl like it.

Like smooth clean frame here. Off center composition would have added further ? Just my thoughts..

Hi Samyak,
First of all my congrats to you for making it to semi finals of BBC veolia with this image. The image is set in a "mood" which is quite evocative. It's a great example of seeing and positioning for the image. If I were to suggest ...you could've avoided about 1 inch of space towards the left of the frame cropping out the bare branch which seems to take my eyes away from the thematic center.
Thanks for sharing

Thank You, All, for the suggestions and your thoughts.
I would have loved to follow rule of thirds here but thought of including the branch which mimics the stork posture. May be next time, some better placement of subject would do justice to this kind of scene.
thanks again.
