living at edge...
This snail was resting in morning light. What I liked is the exact leaf pattern in background complimenting the one snail was resting.
I thought, out of focus background adds to it and hence shot this one. hope you like it.

Love the visual echo between the infocus and outoffocus leaves, and the snail provides a nice focal point.... Lovely!

I like this image a lot Samyak, the out of focus leaves have retained the shape and hence adding very well to the composition. Colors are nice too. Overall I think you have pulled off a rather beautiful image.

I think bg is equally (or more) interested so it is a competition in my view. Color scheme in bg is very nice. Thanks for sharing Samyak.

excellent design in the image...good use of colours and dof.....i feel the lines in the leaf is not adding well to the image which is full of curves .....

Thank You, all for nice analysis of this.
Looking back at it again, looks like, I should have tried just the out of focus leaves to get one more abstract.

Praveen, Ganesh, I did not understand the curves and lines comment. Can you elaborate a little on that?
How would I have tried a different attempt at it to make use of only curves and hence an impacting image out of it?

I think Praveen made a brilliant observation here. I could be wrong, I am sure Praveen will pitch in here. What I understood by Praveen's comment is the veins within the leaf in focus are straight lines while we see curved lines in background (edges of the leaves which are out of focus). Those curved leaves in the bg are making this image very interesting and the straight lines in the foreground seem to conflict with those curves in the background. After Praveen's observation, I felt cropping a few pixels at top may reduce the impact of those lines on the curves at bottom. I would love to know Praveen's thoughts on this.

Thanks Ganesh. I got the picture.
I would try to see if I can crop it better from top without hampering the composition of this pic.
Excellent observation, Praveen. Thanks again.

what I ment has been elaborated by Ganesh......the veins on the leaf has bold straight lines , which is the only straight lines in the image.....there is definitely possibilities to combine straight lines and curved [organic] lines in compositions...but here the required amount of strait lines to balance the curved lines is very less....so in this case it is better to avoid the straight lines is what i feel......
