Good portrayal of squall Nirlep, from the thumbnail it seemed like an underwater image.. the framing works too Thanks for sharing, would reduce the noise a tiny littttle bit in the blues

I like the diagonal split of colors which belong to opposite ends of (my) mood spectrum Nirlep ! Absence of those vertical lines would have added ? Agree with Manoj's observation on under water feel..

Ahh, presence of those vertical lines are treat Nirlep :-). Reminds me of my first pain. True when Ganesh says every mind see's so differently. Now the squall has been transferred inside my mind, those lines depicting unresponsive , unmoved stillness, am wondering what do I have in my mind to be as calm as those poles in the sudden turbulence which has been created by this image ? Reminds me of the first girl I fell in love with who did not even bother like those still poles. ( many more continued to be similarly unresponsive :-) lol ). Not important to remember when was it, or the name or just about anything, it created a turbulence which was very much mine, unshared, so what ? Never care about results, those feeling were awesome yaar, thanks for reminding. I often get very angry response when I say the true feelings of love arises from the pain of losing. Kuchh to hota hai yaar :-). Ladki jaati hai jaane do yaar par ye jo mehek aur ehsas chhor ke jate hai na, wo zindagi banati hai dost.....

Nirlep:
It does relate a lot to the turbulance often we face in life Nirlep. Those vertical poles (?) indicate it is not an issue with them, where as the shrubs show a fight to stand up. Such images last in our minds for a long time.
"Squall" has a tocuh of violence, may be i'm wrong, a few more words from you on this image please.

Thanks for your comments dears.
Manoj noise adds to the feel of a squall. So I didn't think of removing it.
Ganesh, Nilanjan, Dinesh.. incorrigible me ! I retained those vertical lines. These are the pillars with steel reinforcements jutting out. This place is very close to my where I live. It used to be a thriving wet land with migratory birds, shrubs, reeds. It was filled up for a construction site. Concrete started to come up almost overnight. A small gust now throws up sand. I happened to be there on one stormy afternoon. These left over shrubs would violently sway, dust would rise and go around in whirls. Conctrete structure would not budge. There was violence in the visual I tried to capture.
Nilanjan...yes sense of loss weighed on me too when I made this image. Great! this image makes you speak what you may not have :)we now know another side of you ;)

Nirlep, images are just like alcohol, they make you speak the truth always :-) lol. No seriously, I prefer entering an image in a very open mind, but always look for the visual elements of nature in the image to carry me to the layer beyond in the world of imagination. I really got troubled as the case was completely opposite in Ashvin's image. The non nature visual elements were just trying so hard to make me imagine nature beyond that closed and scratched window, even the clearing did not provide what I thought should be enough for a good mental stimuli. But I respect your views too dear, you just have a separate way of looking at it, my way was just the opposite, it helps to know, expands not only the latitude of image making but also the process of viewing an image. It was a good disagreement :-). You will be missing us too when we go for the CNP meet :).

Nilanjan you've nailed it ..I will miss you guys big time when you guys are there for CNP meet :(
I really will. It's not very often that one gets to meet all the great guys in one meeting.
Disagreements on good grounds are really good and I feel on Ashwin's picture we had ground to stand on. Your point ofview taught me a lot and I respect that.
Thanks for the post Nilanjan :)

I know this is going to sound odd, but i like the verticals. to me, this photograph encapsulates "nature running up against man's fences" and the result being a squall. the colors work so well. in fact, i can imagine in pigments, that blue and that ochre giving rise to that green!!

i love this image for its aesthetics and an untold story. i feel like writing a whole story based on this scene :)

thanks nirlep - wish we were going to have the pleasure of your company at the meet,
A

PS: Which photo of ashwin's are you discussing here? link?

Thanks for your views Arati especially your way of looking at it. Your doing a story on this. well I'm honoured. And CNP meet isn't a thing which I would've missed but for a pressing pre-occupation at home.
Link to the discussion we had on Ashwin's reflection.
