Exposure to Creativity
The last 4 days has to be one of my most relished days in my photography memories. Spent time with some of the fantastic people of CNP - sharing learnings, experiences, joy and laughter during the Srujana 2011 meet at Kodachadri.

Thanks a ton for everyone of you who had turned up to the event and for those who missed it due to logistical constraints and for those who are now feeling bad that they didnt turn up for the event, dont worry we will be back soon with much bigger and better Srujana meet.

Coming back to the image, we spent close to 3 sessions in this small backwaters near the homestay we were in shooting birds and some moody and misty landscapes. But everyone who went there to shoot eventually ended up grabbing atleast a frame or two of the 1000s of tadpoles which were acrobatically swimming in the water. After having not carried the camera for the first two sessions and seeing the images taken where fellow CNP members, who had creatively shot and framed these tiny beauties using myriad of equipment ( including 600mm perspectives ), i decided when i actually go to the shoot on the 3rd day, i shall push myself to shoot and present it differently. The idea was to expose the frame creatively to not only suit my taste but also to suit the event for which we all had gathered. I went for the overexposure highkey style shooting and got inspired by the 16:9 perspective from the video which i was shooting just few moments before this image for framing.

Srujana 2011 was the stepping stone for many of us towards "exposure to creativity" and this image in specific what am presenting is what i have "exposed to creatively" present the subject - and hence the title of the image :)

For those of you who had attended the event and want to share the behind the scene images, you can post them in Srujana 2011

Excellent image Shiv - pattern of tadpoles in brighter region and its curved tails along with beautiful tone makes it very arty - may be a good candidate to see it on a slightly smoother photo rag papers. Couple of things might enhance the image further. The region on left appears a bit sharper than the region on right. You may want to try keeping it a little bit softer. Also, I am *not sure* whether cropping the darker tadpole bunch on the right might further add.

Agree with you on all the rest of the thoughts you had on the meeting - it was great to see our friends and interact !

nice image Shiv....had a great time during Srujana 2011.....i feel toning down the dark area in the bottom right corner would help as that area is taking prominence in the composition and the eye is getting hooked there...

Looking at title, i feel the darker corner does justice to image Shiv. Tadpoles moving from darker to lighter - getting exposed. Isn't it wonderful that 20 of us saw this, each one of us have different 'seeing' ?
If you change the title, then you may have to eleminate the darker corner ? Best is to print both and see.

Hi Shiv,
An out and out art piece this. Love it for subtle tone and texture. Ganesh is right about the entry point on the right corner. Slight brightening may restore balance.
Thanks for sharing

as RD rightly said, we all saw these tadpoles and the patterns made by them but each of us visualized differently and made different type of images......i feel good to be part of CNP whose members are so creative in visualizing the single image....:)

Shiv,
loved the tone of the photo...

Shiv, Very authentic Natural History feel to this image. B&W worked just great. Title is just appropriate.

Have been looking at this image since the time you have posted it. I get attracted to the left half of the frame and the tadpoles complement it. Superb image there Shiva.
