Goes very well with your description of the image Arati.
Often I struggle a lot during sunrise/sunset on clear day. Handling the light the ways human eyes do is impossible (even HDRs won't help). Here I tend to think a little glow around would have further added - instead of total darkness - not sure whether that would have diluted the uniqueness. I think mind accepts and interprets total darkness as night in your fire fly image but not here even though camera can't reproduce it - just my thoughts..
thanks ganesh - i was very keen on knowing how the image goes down - the darkness and the rising sun. to tell you the truth i was surprised at the result. i kept it because i had thought it had a paradoxical quality to it.
