Woodpecker pounding on a tree bark. Like the little scraps of wood falling off.
Wonder what will be the impact on the tiny woodpecker's head every time it hits a hard tree bark.. Amazing!

Dint want do a square crop this time :) Love to know your thoughts/comments

Nice silhouette Rajesh. Wish you had some more chips of the wood in space there :) Larger version would have added. Square may work well too. Thanks for sharing.

I really like this silhouette ... the negative space is so interesting. The head feathers are cute too. :) By the way, woodpeckers have specially adapted skulls and other features. I found this on the web:
Several adaptations combine to protect the woodpecker's brain from the substantial pounding that the pecking behavior causes: it has a relatively thick skull with relatively spongy bone to cushion the brain; there is very little cerebrospinal fluid in its small subarachnoid space; the bird contracts mandibular muscles just before impact, thus transmitting the impact past the brain and allowing its whole body to help absorb the shock; and its relatively small brain is less prone to concussion than other animals'.

Ganesh Sir, Thanks a lot for your comments. I thought of removing this image as I thought I was posting too many images of the same pattern. Your comments added the extra value it needed :)
MWilliamsNC - Nice to see your comments and thanks for the explanation! Would love to see your work in this forum :)
