Radha, I have a few observations on this one but I want to know some more of your thoughts. Please explain how your eyes and mind rolls over the frame.

Ganesh - I find the Blood Lily to be very abstract, with petals and stamens going all over the place, like a maze. I was looking to depict some of the lines and some stamens rising out of the surface.. When I see the image, my eyes first go to the soft red in the top left of the frame and then to the yellow tips of the stamen.
I've looked at this image several times for the last week after I processed it, I couldn't decide what to do with the lines in the bottom right of the frame.
Would love to know your thoughts!

That is interesting Radha, I was curious to know how your mind scans the image. For me it is slightly different. Eyes straight goes to yellow stamens at the center. It is said that yellow demands most visual attention in the spectrum of colors - true for me here. After that eyes don't stay there on those stamens for long and seem to search for something else. I think this is where improvement opportunity lies. Could you have played with shallow depth of field with an oblique angle to increase the harmony ? Compare this with your other creation here. Note the harmony created by those out of focus stamens and those in focus at the center. Thoughts along those lines might add further to the frame. I think keeping in mind how to steer the eyes over the frame before pressing the shutter could be a good strategy for us.

Ganesh - You certainly brought up a good point here. For some reason, I tend to look at the top left of the frame first. Or, maybe the yellow stamens directly lead my eyes to the top left, I am not sure. Thank you for your feedback and suggestions. I will play around with creating more images like these.
