Truth & Reflections
Once, an image of a reed and its reflection (posted by radha) made me ... reflect :)

Much like a scene and its reflection in tranquil water, so are our observations and thoughts. What we see is probably slightly different from how we internalize it or perceive it. Just like how a scene is slightly different from its reflection. Both are what they are ~ neither is lesser nor the absolute truth. For what we see and feel are both just as real.

And so i made this image. A Rorschach blot, with the Lake Sandoval of the Peruvian Amazon, as seen at sunset.

Hi Arati,
Was there a specific reason for turning the image 90 degrees?
Thanks for sharing

hi Nirlep,
my thought was to give both the reflection and the above-water scene equal weight... that is, to increase the level of abstraction one level. Then to allow the mind to see just the patterns (whatever one sees in it), much like a Rorschach blot...

but judging by the lack of commentary here though, i assume it didn't cut it ... hehe

:) A

I think the shot was ok without the flip. It had enough for one to meditate on. The flip has me guessing and the magic is lost. But it happens with all of us. We do judge and misjudge our own images at times. So don't worry :)
