The foreground form looks very alive but the focus is a bit off. Better focus and sharpness will further lift the shot .

I feel its either the focus or the sharpening which has caused this to get less punch - especially the finer details. Probably from what i can sit back here and think of, a revisit to the place and trying to shoot the frame with side lighting using off camera flash can make it stand out more. Probably its because of the fine details in the tree the sea/lake in background is not getting enough emphasis.

Looking forward to hear more about the subject here - what exactly are those tiny white feather like things on the tree ?
