Krish, this works better than the previous one. However, i would have liked 'Rain' defined better ? As this is armchair photography, you can better this, this monsoon i guess. Work from home :)

This image much more powerful than the earlier post, portrays the monsoon mood much better . I'am able to feel the monsoon rain and the wind better in this one. This squarish crop has worked well. Thanks for sharing.

For over two decades I have never missed the monsoon hitting the W Ghats. Now as I settle down in the Eastern Ghats-Western Ghats complex I really miss these moments when the first clouds bring respite along with it the chill factor and the gusty winds and the first to face them is the coconut trees. I really like the feel you have conveyed so accurately this monsoon mood. . The square crop, swaying trees and the biggest factor which helps the image is the soft feel this is what the monsoon does put curtains and curtains of moisture so visiiblity is down.Glad I could be a part of the monsoon by witnessing this image. Time to search my music albums for the monsoon tunes ......... Mungaaru maleye ......

Love the texture on the image. The feel is ecstatic. The power is awesome. How would a color image look?

RD, I think the rain is well defined here. Well defined through the softness of the frame. I think unless one has an open bg, rain drops can not be seen in the frame, but this is allowing me to imagine not only every drop but also the speed of it, the waving of the water in the air due to such high winds....for me this image really depicts monsoon in a very subtle and dignified way if am allowed to say that :-). VMR wrote it very nicely, the soft curtains were due to the curtains of moisture. Just awesome image.

Krish, this works far better than the other post for my taste buds. Did you use vaseline on the lens ? I like the random swaying here. I am *not* sure whether just a bit of toning down the bg (or opening up the leaves a little more) would add further. Thanks for sharing.

Whoa ! Lots of thoughts here
RD, Ravi, Vikram, Sriharsha,Nilanjan, Ganesh, VMR ...many thanks for your thoughts and comments !

RD: Very armchair ! "Kaapi" and shooting right at home, what heaven !
Sriharsha: Well the image is mostly grey , even in colour. Hence decided on monotone.
Nilanjan: Spot on. The BG needs to be plain and dark for the raindrops to show up. Maybe I should do a few "bathroom shower" experiments in controlled state to figure out more of this :-)
Ganesh: Vaseline ( whats that ;-) !! ..not needed, it was quite a pour with a lot of wind too. Will try to tone down the BG and see. Doubt if there is enough to pull details out of the leaves.

Thanks all once again !

Krishnan, This works much better than the previous one indeed. It needs a good border, frame and a wall hang :-)
