Prince Frog in a Sliver plate
Unfortunately I failed to notice the frog while taking the picture. Hope you can see it. Top left corner . Was concentrating on the texture. Saw it while processing the image

Hi Raj,
Silver foil feel of the leaves, bird beak like water miniscus with prince frog in the middle! a real treat this. After the viewer is done with looking at the frame presence of frog comes as a total surprise. In fact it makes the picture look bigger. You may crop a third from the bottom for a tighter frame.
Thanks for sharing

Raj, the silvery feel works very well here. Nice arcs and patterns here. Agree, you could have given some more emphasis to the frog. Some more depth at the bottom part would have also added ? Thanks for sharing.

i really liked the silver foil look of the image..this can be done only in monochrome i guess....i dont think the frog really maters in this image..the silver took the center stage here.....thanks for sharing....

Raj nothing personal, just about the image only.....I feel I have seen much better executed images from you. I am not understanding why should I consider an image creative just because it has a silver tone in it ? Knowing your knowledge and your experience, I would say the choice of DOF is kind of surprising me, but for your name in the image I could not have related this image with you. You said it was a frog and hence am now thinking it is a frog, probably you had a possibility of making this a much more interesting image. Unfortunately I have failed probably to realize the true value of this image. I just felt there were elements here in the frame which might have helped to create a much better image. If you feel this comment is hurting you , plz let me know and I shall delete it :-).

Image creation for me is most satisfying when there is a departure from reality and I am seeing something that does not immediately meet the eye. In B and W we have more opportunity to do that with play of light since we are not worried about color rendition. From this perspective it is a satisfying image for me. The situation is not directly seen. I pre-visualized my final outcome. I waited for the light and POV exposed based on what information I needed to record. I processed in line with my visualization. From that sense it is not a snapshot I have applied my craft. It is a creation.
Well, Was mastery over craft seen. Are there flaws in execution. There probably is. The Frog was an after thought. DOF badly used. So I was not in full control of my creation and my craft.
Is it aesthetically pleasing and well composed. Again probably not . Could have been executed better. Certainly did not capture your imagination.
Is it a creative picture. I would say it is a creation. I have tried to express.
You think it is a problem of clarity in what i was trying to show - Frog, Leaves, Texture,. Or it lacks emotion.

I feel more empty when I take a non thinking photograph and then give it a artistic twist while processing and giving it a nice title. (My title here was outlandish though :) )
Your thoughts ?

Raj, Excellent image here. Light reflection is perfect and I agree B&W works better.

Lovely texture and processing, Raj! Very good subject and the silver color looks good as well. It looks little soft at the bottom, is it intentional? TFS
