The Giraffe Family outing!
Continuing with my experiments to show the african landscape in Black & White. Appreciate your views on this.

Coming to this image, it was fun to watch This Giraffe family gathering, as you could see from a 2-3 weeks old cub to 7 m tall giant beauty.

Thanks Vikas!

During my trip I made many such images to give emphasis to little curves. Not sure how much I succeeded. Regarding this image, in the color version the light was not great, so it was not possible to get the kind of effect which I would have preferred. Also though here all the Giraffes look to be in the same plane in reality it was not the case. So it was not so appealing to me.

this one probably one of the best images i have seen from africa.. very very unique.. the usual silhouettes we see from africa are during sunset with golden light behind.. the graphic feel in this takes it to a different level..
it would have been perfect if the shrubbery\small trees were missing in the middle of the frame (the tree to the right adds to the image though).. not sure what your stand on cloning is, but it would be nice if you could erase those shrubs and see how it looks..

Thanks Manjunath!
I'm ok with cloning as long as the original scene is not modified entirely. Here, I felt those shrubs were helping to fill the gap between 2nd Giraffe and the rest. Cloning out those shrubs will create a void, kind of isolation from the rest IMO.
