Quiet
Have you noticed how quietly an elephant moves? Thanks to this padded foot. Under the bones of the feet is a thick gelatinous material that expands when the weight is on it and contracts when the weight is removed. The elephant's weight is absorbed almost entirely by this material. Five toed front foot of an Asian elephant, kicking up grass to scarf to the mouth ~ a fascinating, graceful dance to watch.

The power and gentleness rarely go together but here it does, isn't it ? May be exclusion of the trunk would have added more focus ? Just my thoughts Arati..

Indeed Ganesh. with the elephant, they do go together and to capture that was one of my challenges this time. i laughed at seeing your comment about the trunk. I posted one here with two legs and a trunk first, then pulled it off. then posted this one :) Natural progression ... next one without the trunk - for i feel like you do!

thanks for your comments, valuable as always.
