This is evolved image making to me... actually storytelling.
*blown away*

will have to come back to this one and comment more thoughtfully later!

Extraordinary, this kind of visualization. I've come back to this image so many times this evening Ganesh.

Thank you, for the inspiration :)

Excellent image Ganesh. Great point of view, lighting on the frog and subtle over exposure of the water goes well together along with the shallow dof. Wish to see another frame where the waterfall is better defined.

Ganesh, this was the precies point of discussion with Ashok Mansur, where we discussed about the same shot. The discussion was on getting wide angle macro perspectives and I did describe the shot to him and I get to see it in two days time, great rendition of a setting of a frog. Very nice perspective this. I would like to know what lens work best in conditions like this.

VMR, I used Nikon 24mm tilt-shift lens from a very close range (fortunately the frog was not bothered). I would think 24mm works best, tilt-shift is a big bonus to control bg as needed - I opted to loose the depth in bg in this case with a little tilt. That said, normal 20/24mm lens would work but we may get more depth than needed. I have several other images with side pose of the frog (even while calling etc) but somehow liked this version more. I think the side pose removes the subtle uneasy silence that this image has.

This is wonderful image. Distant blurred waterfall and contrasting light on the back of frog making the image.
Also the thought of silent spectator is successfully conveyed. TFS.

Yogesh

hey ganesh, this is very nice. I am wondering in color if the wetness feel will come out more. The uniqueness here is the blurred waterfall. For a moment i was thinking keeping the waterfall in focus and blurring the frog would have generated a different feel altogether. It might increase the feel of being watched without explicitly stating it.
