On the Edge
Somehow this butterfly looked like a flamboyant and infinitely daintier version of a diver about to jump off the diving board, conveying the mood of contemplation that precedes the plunge. :-)

No flash used; spot-metered for the butterfly at 420mm; f8. Thoughts welcome.

Lovely shot here Santosh, reminds me of a shot taken by Ganesh(on his website), the butterfly stands out in a dark setting. To make more impact of the diving perspective you could have pushed the butter fly slightly to the top right and left more space blank.

Dear VMR sir, thanks so much for your views. I chose this composition to include most of the leaf (this is full-frame) to show the 'diving board' as it were, but I have an alternative composition also, again full-frame. I have uploaded it here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=147 .

Would love to know your thoughts on that one. Thanks.

Nice presentation Santosh. The dark contrasting background is really making the Butterfly stand out well. Considering your description - i presume you could have composed it a little to the right and given more space inside the frame. Good caption too. TFS

Very nice image Santosh. Liked tis composition than the other version. But for me the reflection behind the butterfly, on the leaf is distracting a bit. Looks like there was some strong source of light around. A very well made image.

Beautiful image Santosh. Agree with others about framing a little. May be composition could be improved as Shiva said, by placing the subject in a better position.
