Ganshi, may I have a print of this one ? :-). Loved it thoroughly....intense deconstruction perspective. I have hardly thought of such deconstructions as close perspectives. Great job. I would be ok even without the eye. The light passing through the beak and the diagonal curve of the body would have made it a very very strong abstract. An abstract with enough clues, taking the responsibility of an artist and not throwing it entirely on the viewer as we can see many abstract artists do in the name of art :-). Immediately another frame coming to mind....what about a fish in front of the beak and portraying the beak with heavy defocus, thus only allowing the tone of the passing light through the yellow beak to narrate the story ? Am sure u must be having. Your girl friend here ( Miss Egret Iyer ) was moving away whenever others were moving to the spot and shamelessly closing in when you got closer :-). I think you should be having a great shot of the beak with just the fish...did not see in ur cam but saw it happening in front of u. I knew then only what was being created :-). Waiting to see dear.

This must be your new friend Egret Iyer :) For those who don't know, Ms.Egret Iyer seduced Ganesh for 3 days and was about to fly back with Ganesh ! With all the cancelled flights, change in schedules, upgrades of class, she missed flight with him :)

While the beak looks captivating, wouldn't that be better with a fish ? Have one ?
Did you try to open the area around eye ? if so, you could have opened the area on the beak, not sure if that would have created the same effect of light on the beak.

Nilanjan & RD, I just had that image in mind, unfortunately it is still in the mind :) I did get a couple of opportunities to make it but I simply could not find the subject in the viewfinder when it happened due to strange lens setup and focus issues I which I had to live with. As you know it takes time to find the subject when the set up looks like this !

I love this Ganesh! For some reason I initially thought you had your camera submerged under water with the egret walking on top. But the effect is surreal and just love the Eye and the Beak!

I too thought that this was an underwater shot!! Really liked the feel of the image. The current dimension doesn't do complete justice to the impact this image creates when it is seen in bigger. Very unique one overall.

Very intense & dramatic indeed!! Had the same sigh wishing it had a fish in the beak...reason good enough for a next trip to Bharatpur, GaneshAnna? :)

This looks even better than what you had shown in the field, Ganesh. Crystalline and sparkling background, and translucent beak come together to work around that eye. So engrossing. Egret Iyer would be proud seeing this image :) TFS.

Adhbutha! Great visualisation and execution. Agree with others on under water feel and fish part.
