really love this image, Praveen. there is mystery, there is beauty, there is elegance, there is light-magic, and there is a feel of a being. a portrait very steeped in the habitat. ... not quite in-your-face, but a hint of someone. it has a je nais se quoi quality to it.

a few crops suggest themselves too ...some playful, others deepening the mystery. But the one you have here? i like it a lot.

thanks!

Prav, plz check the colors, am seeing a magenta cast on the body of the crane...had calibrated my monitor a few days back only, should not have gone so much out by now....not really sure of the centre composition here. I have one observation, when u generally create a mystery on a subject, somewhere in the frame it is needed to have another point of interest. It might be an interesting grass or just about anything from the environment there. Suppose your crane was on the bottom left and had a grass or branch etc on the top right, the image would have reached another dimension. The criss cross of the grass on top of the crane too looks good but I felt it needs more presence dear. Difficult to get them always....

Are you cross processing your images ?? why this cast ??

i too can see the colour cast....but some how i liked it.. ......the colour could be because of the defocused leaves in the fg.......to me the reeds were complementing the curve ...the smudged colours mixing to each other the dark area balancing the lighter tone body of the crane....a visual experience.....i agree to your observation....but then should we create rules?if there is mystery in this then let mystery be a mystery ..why have some thing to add on?..in some situation to give a clue we can have some additions in the composition so as to give a hint about the mystery......my thoughts....

An interesting perspective Praveen. If this is a full frame, I think there are other crops which may be powerful too. For example, loosing pixels up to legs (plus some crop on either side) might create a fine silence at the upper part of the frame.

Prav, I said observation and not rules..absolutely no need to follow rules. The hint of a grass was not to add as a clue :-), more patterns as seen on top of the crane could have added further. You could have also ( NOT SHOULD HAVE ) started the frame at the bottom with the curve on the back of the crane and used the lovely patterns of the reeds just on top of it. I feel that would have added as well. I agree with your thoughts of keeping it fully mysterious as well .....working on these kind of images are always tough. To keep the eyes, mind and imagination of the viewer equally glued on to these kind of frames where there is no details,no action, is indeed tough. My reason for the suggestion was that I felt a little monotony after the curves were over for the eyes....was wishing what if just the curves lead the mind slowly into another aspect, another story which too is incomplete ? But, guess we all think differently...

"monotony after the curves were over for the eyes"... when i look at the image,i too feel it now...you are correct Nilanjanda....some reeds would have added in that aspect......i went back to few of my earlier images made in this concept....a new point learned.....yes its a full frame....
