Woody...
The woodpecker was on the move & for few seconds came in the position, where the sidelight was hi-lighting the red crest.....

Hope i have processed it correctly....Would love to know your views....Thanks in advance...

It must be very tough both on the and off the field to handle the light. I can't comment on the processing part, but I feel losing some pixels from the left will add to the image. It may enhance the prominence of red crest.
Thanks for sharing.

Exposure is well controlled. i think you can extract little more shadow detail and crop for impact

lovely exposure of that flaming crest, jayeshbhai. i am fine with shadows that helps to enrich colours. any other crop or compo?

Thanks for valuable feedback !

Adithya & Nevil :: Tried other crops as well...I wanted to present colours of different elements ( Red of crest & green of leaves) enhanced by light in the frame....So included more on leaves ....The dark tree bark & white of the sky provide contrast to add to overall composition.... Agreed about some other crop ( Tried few,but satisfied only with a square one) can highlight the crest more but than i have to avoid greens.... Would be happy to see your version

Rajkumar :: Tried ,but by doing that i also was showing more details of woodpecker and i wanted only to show the crest & little of body profile outlined by light... Selective process may help but not sure about my limited skills to execute it perfectly.
