The Summit
A faint outline of a mountain-top appears in the distance engulfed by the magnanimity of the sky and its colours at dawn.

Thamaso ma jyothirgamaya

It is interesting how opposite ends of the spectrum of colors got historically attributed/felt opposite moods and values. Another thought is they will remain as two sides of a coin, without the one the other cease to exist. Each has its own beauty and the beauty of the life continues silently while we continue to wonder about creations of God.

Did I say a fine image here, Falak ? Thanks for sharing..

Ganesh sir - Positive feedback from you just makes my day. :) Love the way you have interpreted this image. One can also relate it to yin and yang and how the world is incomplete without positives and negatives, how light is insignificant without darkness and darkness without light. Now that I think about it, the image would be better titled, 'Balance.' Thanks for your views!

Nice image Falak. Remember seeing similar images (with different theme) from Shiva.

A bold attempt Falak. The possibility you're trying to explore places you among mountaineers. 1000 pixels don't really do justice to this image. It has to be seen big, real big for that peak to strike the viewer. Ganesh's interpretation of the spectrum is so apt.

Lovely! The tip of the top stands wonderfully inviting you to play with the thought of the apparent submissiveness of the mountain. I guess its a wonderful example of deception.

trvikas - Thank you. Nice shots those. I guess the peak in this image is the only difference.

Nirlep sir - Thank you. I was thinking the same thing about the peak hardly being visible. But I liked this image out of the rest for the same reason. It invites the viewer to find it on their own. :)

Sriharsha - Thank you. A wonderful example of deception indeed. I tried to convey the insignificance of a massive mountain in an even massive sky. Glad you liked the shot.

Lovely image sir...please can you tell me how did you manage to capture the colours ?

Commentby falakvasa on Fri Aug 16, 2013 9:28 pm

Aishwarya - Haha, first time anyone's called me 'sir'. Colors were there before sunrise (at around 5 AM). As this was shot from a high altitude, the colors are all the more dramatic. Underexposing the shot a little brought out the colors further.
