River Madhuvanti was overflowing at a check-dam before submitting herself to the Ocean near Madhavpur Ghed on the coast line of Saurashtra. The Reef Egret was busy in trying its luck.. I have kept this image B&W as it was shot in a broad day light, I wanted the blur effect of the water flow and it was not possible for me to capture in colours with the slow shutter speed, I dont use any filters.

This is my first posting after a long time of my passive association with CNP. I would love to hear members' views on the image. I would love to learn more from your comments and critics.

Thank you all in advance,

Regards,
Dhaivat Hathi

Welcome to CNP Dhaivat. A fine image to start with. It is interesting to see how you have kept the egret in complete silhouette. Division of the water is what makes this image special for me. I think a bit wider view would have also been nice.

Hope to see many more images from you!

Dear Adithya,
Thank you for your warm welcome and comment on the image.

The bird was dark grey, so it was easy to turn it to silhouette.. :)
I did try the landscape composition, but I found vertical better as apart from this water formation there was no drama in the water and in slower shutter that came as plain surface which didnt appeal me.

Thank you :)

Welcome to CNP Dhaivat ! I was sure that you will start with my favorite image.. The waves make it very dynamic .

Welcome to CNP Dhaivat. Very well composed. Love the proportion and movement. If this were mine I would have reduced the shutter speed a little more to smoothen those curves. Looking forward to see more of your creations.

Dear Jayesh bhai, I am glad that one of my images is one of your favorites!

Dear Ganesh Sir, I am happy that you liked this image. I had tried with slower shutter speed too, but as I wasnt carrying tripod, most of the images blurred in that case plus I couldn't manage with the exposure and most of the details were burning out. I will keep trying and learning & you please keep guiding :)

Thank you! :)

Welcome for ACTIVE participation on CNP!, Dhaivat. What an image to begin with! Like the way wave edge carries viewer to the bold silhouette. Agree on little more blur of water for more dramatic impact. Hope to see more such creations :)
Regards.

Welcome to CNP Dhaivat! Wish you a creatively pleasant stay here...
Beautiful image as opening shot. In my opinion left side of the frame is grabbing more attention due to overwhelming white on the crest. Personally I'm ok with the speed and believe the whites have room for texture to bring out character in the tubmbling wave.
Thanks for sharing

Yes, no boundary, no line of control......
Only flowing......
And the steps that leave no footprints behind......!
Only here and now......!!!

I welcome you here with whole of my heart, Dhaivatbhai.......
