Schneider's Leaf Nosed Bats
I have been away on a personal travel and off net for couple of weeks - sorry I could not participate here as much as I would have liked to. Thanks to Kiran and Samad who helped me while making this image. Thanks for your views.

If not for the bat in the middle of the second column which revealed the image for me , I was lost for a while . Topnotch composition as expected from the master .The texture of the slabs are captured nicely .It reminds me of the camels and shadows by george steinmetz .

e x t r a o r d i n a r y !, ganesh. i am really speechless to put down words. stunning visualization 'n execution is least to say. i think, this is very much unlike your images! the way you have made this abstract-like geometric image! i think, the light source is artificial.

tfs. regards.

Just love the geometry and shadows in the image. Astounding create! Would love to see more of your creations from this trip. Bit of more brightness on the right of the frame is slightly taking my eyes away but that's a very minor nit compared to the artistic quality of the image!

Yes Nevil, light source is flash, made this inside a old temple where the shooting condition was less than ideal. Thanks to Kiran who helped me with the flash the way I wanted it.

Like I said elsewhere, truly mind-boggling perspective. Like Praveen and Adithya said, it reminds me of the camel image and also another aerial image of a pack of wolves that features in Light on the Earth, which is a BBC publication compiling the best of twenty years of the BBC WPOTY competition's winning images. So it's usually from the air that we see such perspectives, so this image is unique because it inverts positions!

I see that some highlights on the right are close to blowing out. Did you intentionally retain so much brightness so as to keep the bats visible?

Ganesh dear!
A breathtaking picture. It's a lesson in creative photography coming from the master himself. And imagine I had believed that one required a chopper and an exotic locale to do a camels shot!!! Had you pre-visualised this shot? Or you did some thinking on location?
The effect is simply stunning as the perspective has transformed the space. Associating it with the camels shot where the shot did not reveal the expanse, this one gives a feeling of a lot more space than there actually is. And how the muted presence of bats has come alive through one kiss of sidelong light.
Put in punjabi I'll say "fatte chakk te"

Fantastic image, Ganesh. So nice of you to share this. Thanks.

THIS IS MIND BLOWING!!! As Santosh points out you have inverted the perspectives here and still managed to pull off the same magic. The light seems a bit harsh but I am not complaining. I will keep talking about this image for a long long time!

The contrast at right side is just touching the max which I thought will emphasize the shadows better. May be slight reduct of the contrast would help. Thanks for your suggestions and views..

Wonderful creation Ganesh, I just wonder about the contours your brain has. To my taste, I would like to see a monochrome of this.

Ganesh Anna, Kiran had been speaking volumes about this image and the hardships (the threat of the frail ladder, the incessant sneezing etc !! :)) that you guys went thru in making the image!!! The sheer brilliance of the idea and the execution is mind blowing as usual!!

A sheer brilliance in itself! another true masterpiece from your side. Just imagining the print of this on a canvas!
