Lovely colors Shiv, perfect for a lounge print ( this is the visual version of lounge music ). :-)

Nilanjan, not sure if you hijacked my thoughts/words - that evening when i was photographing this - i was listening to nothing but the sound of the waves hitting the rocks. I went back to my car and was wondering i will make a big print put it in a empty wall and just have a spot light on it and listen to a nice fusion/ambinet ( lounge ) music and just meditate staring at this colors.

Hi Shiva,
Call it coincidence that Mahesh Devrajan posted the same day a link to the most expensive picture by Andreas Gursky. The article accompanying Andreas picture says that it presents our relationship with nature..a featureless colorless nature amidst human elements. I did look at the picture for quite some time and felt the sadness flute through me. Then I switched to Shiva's post which is constructionally similar to Andeas. The similarity ends at that. From here one may move either side. We may take Andreas picture as culmination of modernity which results in a featureless scape or we may move from there to Shiva's view which happens later in time than Andreas's depiction. From Andreas to Shiva there could be a movement of nature reclaiming human elements leaving the canvas with just natural elements. The rich color in Shiva's picture could be thought of as a remnant of industry which too would fade out in time. These pictures combined have had me spell bound. The more I think the deeper it gets.
thanks for taking this shot and sharing Shiva!

Since the image does not have an anchor point it brings out the feel of vastness very nicely. A very nice candidate for big print. These kind of images might do good without borders. Border seems to some how limit the vastness mood conveyed. This image in pano might be awesome as well. Loved nirlep's comment. Very nice analysis and thoughts.

Hey Nirlep, You just filled up the image with life with your words. Fortunately or Unfortunately i admit my image is not inspired or influenced by that of Andreas. I was sitting on a cliff and shooting videos of waves hitting the rocks below when i could see this scene in front of me. I saw through viewfinder and i thought i want it in the proportion and composition which is shown above. I tried different compositions and orientations and also even out of focus frames to get what i was aiming for. As i mentioned in another comment, i was relating it to music i was relating it to peace, i was relating it to success and failures in life. You added a different dimension to it. Thanks a ton for it.

Hey Mahesh - i do have plans of printing this in future but yeah - the border comes only for the web images, the plan for the print is to have it on canvas so that i can strech it.

This is brilliant, Shiva! I like the colors very much. This is a kind of image which grows with time. May be print can give more justice to this image. TFS

Regards,
Prashanth
