The flames look stunning Shivangji. Just wondering if wood used to create the fire should there or excluded from the frame...??? Very nice image. TFS

Hi, I just attended Steve Winter's workshop, in his talk he mentioned world over the difficult images to get of wildlife is one of conflict. I was wondering with the umpteen incursions by elephants into habitations and the droves of photographers chasing them, I was thinking otherwise. I now feel the entire body of work in case of conflict is not about explicit and gory images but images like this which makes you think. This is certainly at the top of the conflict images, I really like the flames and the impact it has on the image, the almost there elephant is a very symbolic of the future it faces. I would certainly pitch this to BBC WPOTY.

Undoubtedly VMR this image reminded of what all steve winter said..... even if u dont caption such images , you can easily make out what the photographer is trying to say. Too good sirji.

An amazing image. Liked it in all colours. OOF elephant walking away from the scene means a lot to the image. Heat waves around makes the setting perfect. Hearty congratulations.

Shivang, a little late here and all has been said,
a very very rare image...and well done, i particularly liked that the whole elephant is not seen, just the topline and the "elephant", is completed in our minds, it also lends ltself to a lot of different interpretations,
fiery indeed. well done again.

Thanks for the feedback everyone... It will remain as one of my cherished images as I was on foot while shooting a tusker charging towards villagers. Glad you all liked the concept.

It feels like the flames are moving, to slowly and surely engulf all of what is left. Very telling image.

I can actually see the flames take shape of the elephant here!
The heat haze is adding the drama to the image, while the flames is adding the color. The Twigs in the FG give this image a nice texture while the elephant in the BG provides a nice anchor! Nothing short of an award winner.
I would however suggest you go a little easy on the sharpening of the twigs and the flames.

Giving a surreal feeling . the hot air current does add a watercolor effect . Loved it
