I would love to know more about the experiment Ramesh ! Is this a result of camera movement, filter, gel, oil on filter, lens baby, some thing else ?

Ganesh and RD, this was the result of a simple experiment: multiple exposures (3) with one in focus and 2 out of focus on either side of the focal plane! My idea was to present a blurred subject with some definition a la impressionists. Tried few different settings for OOF and liked this one.

Did the experiment work? Eager to know...

This is cool. I always thought of doing this experiment. Now that you have done then it's become patent :-).
Odd number Multiple exposure - One exposure with focused subject and rest exposures defocussed front and back evenly. Nice image though. Thank you for sharing. I think this experiment works much better in macro world.

Thanks for sharing the information - the reason for asking is the fact that it worked :) I love the defocussed regions of the frame - indeed impressionistic. Wish the focussed region (the green tree in the foreground I guess) had some more definition.

I think experiments like this and then the perfecting them will lead to long lasting images. Personally I prefer such experiments than taking a well known safe route and then "adding to infinity" :)

Thanks, Ganesh and Shankar for your kind words.

Shankar, will have to try it in macros. We usually have a large area of clean bokeh. It will be interesting to see how it turns up.

Agree, Ganesh about experimenting. Not only can we find new ways of making images, we can also keep recharging the creative cells.

I like the end result a lot, whatever one does to generate this kind of a result is his own approach but to be able to imagine and execute something like is by itself extremely artistic and creative. Very nice

You must be slightly mad to try things like this - but the result is simply fabulous
