ECLIPSE...........
It was my longtime wish to capture `roosting picture' of monsoon visitor birds ( Ibis & openbill storks) at night.
Every year they spend monsoon in my hometown on trees ,just outside railway station ( a real busy station on western railway line connecting B`bay to delhi & ahmedabad) ( Strange na !)

Monsoon clouds or showers making settings difficult. But i was lucky on that day...incidently it was full moon day !
After reaching station i thought that while roosting ,the birds will be almost static but,i was wrong..Almost all were
busy prooning, even fighting occasionally...I tried some group photos with long exposure & decided to try this .( Thanks VMR sir. I was inspired by ur frog image to try this) .I could
manage many shots in different poses & activity ... Suggestions welcome...Thanks in advance....( Sorry for lengthy description)

Minimal PP here ( mainly NR) ...

A very nicely executed image here Jayesh! Yes, it certainly comes near to VMR's attempt with frog :-) but I must say kudos to you for your patience and effort on making this one. I wonder how does it look if it were taken with multiple exposure (may be 2 frames, one with moon in focus and the other with bird in focus) and merge the two images! I may be completely wrong on my imagination, but as of now that also looks an interesting experiment to me! Thanks for sharing this one!

I totally agree with Ashwini here a multiple exposure with this fore ground and another with just the moon in focus would be much better. As always I am not sure when you would get another opportunity to try it out but this is a very beautiful image.

A dream opportunity! I'm reminded of Vijay Cavale's indelible image of an owl with the moon in the background, shot in Kutch. I agree with Ashwini and Sriharsha here, but even if not multiple exposures, I think stopping down to get more DOF was absolutely essential here, to ensure that the moon looked like the moon. Right now it looks only like a white blob, which could be anything, even light from a torch as in VMR sir's image. Terrific attempt, though! Thanks for sharing.

Jayesh, This is just beautiful situation. I must say worth the effort for an excellent image. To may taste placing of bird and framing is perfect. Also I am not sure if bringing down the levels will make moon patches appear more. TFS.

Jayesh, first of all full marks to your effort and execution. I don't want to compare this image with any other image. This is extremely unique perspective, coupled with an apt title on the most appropriate day!

I also like the way it is. Fantastic thinking, execution and presentation. Everything is good about this image! Hats off. This will stay in my memory for a very long time. Very very strong contender for the image of the month at the end of this month! Keep them coming..

Jayesh this is simply out of the box, just shows how previsualisation can work wonders, amazing homework too. This is where a forum like this contributes each one to think differently and handle challenges of seeing. Great work here.
