Retirement is forever.
The dark rocks and the dried grass gave a total sense of desolation to this dead tree. And add to that a healthy fog.

Everything works very well with the image here Sandeep. I just love the tonal ranges and mood. May be non-white border will add further to the mood ? (I am not quite sure in this case). A nice wall hanger for sure. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Ganesh. I have always been a colors guy, and the amazing posts here in CNP has a lot to do with me starting to see/ think black and white. For the border, I had tried one option I had heard from you - keeping the white background as a layer and changing its exposure to see what looked better - I went from white to black and came back with a feeling "white" :) . Thank you for all the tips and for the inspiration!

May be you are right Sandeep. I did express my skepticism there in comment..

Hey, i love this image! the tones as simply superb. Do you think you have the whole range :) Along with the greys, i liked the definition in the foreground. with some of these recent posts on CNP, I am beginning to see the merits of not underexposing heavily as i tend to do. i am wondering if a few more pixels at the top will allow me to wander as much above as below....

thanks!

Totally loved the mood here. Tonal ranges are great! Yes as Ganesh has mentioned, the border is very much distracting.
