Hi Nevil,
this is a very interesting take off from the previous one. Are those blurs the birds? amazing presence of mind and pre-seeing to capture this frame. I am not sure i would have trained my camera on the tree so long after the birds have flown! lovely.

i may have cropped the top 20 px or so off where the half leaves are hanging... regardless, i like this.

How would this look, as a high key image? i wonder...

thanks!
arati

Excellent image Nevil. Less of a metamorphosis compared to the last image for me however. Those out of focus spots and contrasting definition of branches/leaves can successfully trigger thoughts about dream and reality. Well thought out and made. I am not sure loosing just a bit of definition on tree/leaves would add further. Thanks for sharing.

thanks arati 'n ganesh.

@arati,
i too was tempted to crop that little top but then found that it would push upper birds too much near the edge. highkey must also look good if it doesn't make birds smaller, here i wanted to preserve the mood and wanted to have least graphic feel.

@ganesh,
yes, i agree on too much diff between both, visually as well as conceptually. they are like beginning & ending of a series, someday i hope to find an image or two to fill in-between.

regards.

Nice interesting image. To my taste I would reduce leaves and braches on the left. May be square image.

Very interesting way of representing metamorphosis (i & ii). Eager and wish that you get the fill in images at the earliest.

I think i would go for this version than the other one. The oof birds make this image for me .. it shows the sense of freedom and also adds a dimension portraying dreams-reality as mentioned by Ganesh. If you want to pixel-perfect then a very slight crop from the top will add to the image.

Actually Nevil, to me this image has to be viewed keeping the older one in mind. Standing alone , it is still a good shot, but when you view this like the second part of a serial, that is when the entire meaning of the image comes to me. Would a triptych work?

thanks shankar, hrishikesh, shivakumar 'n sandeep.

@sandeep,
yes, i too feel it needs atleast one more image in-between to have a link between the two, esp. if we want to see it as a series. i am looking for one that would also stand alone on it's own, like these images do.

regards.
