Alpine Impressionism
Dear All,
sorry for my disappearance. I come back here, and hopefully in the comment activity soon. This a photo taken during an hiking day on Italian Alps. I prefer not to anticipate anything, and leave you to interpretate it. Please, let me know your feelings.
Ciao

The texture of the blue looks like water....or is it actually the sky which is looking like this ? Lovely textures here....:-)

I first thought its the sky with rain/snow happening, but then was confused by the middle area where its blue. further confused by NilanjanDa's comment now (Whether its the texture of a sky or the water below?).
But, I loved this image. It evokes a strong emotional response from me taking me directly to the place and enjoying the beauty that it has to offer. I am thinking its the water(lake) below and depth is added by the mountain snow and trees. Loved this composition. Would be waiting to hear your thoughts on this and how made this image :-)

Fabri, This is an inverted image of a lake. Reflection of snowy lake shore and trees. Very well made image. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Shankar :-). I too wondered earlier if this was a reflection looking at the blue area, but then the snow, the grass in the foreground are just so clear and not exactly like we are used to seeing in reflections...the water must be very very calm to render such an amazing reflection. Wonderful image indeed.

Nilanjan, When I looked at pattern on the sky it looked very familiar pattern in lake created by mild breeze. Yes water at edge is so calm and acts like real mirror. And he must have made this image from an higher altitude on the other end of lake.

Many thanks to everybody! I'm glad to see that this image is object of an interpretation discussion.
Truly, this image is not an inverted reflection. It has been made from a steep slope, at higher altitude than the lake shore, framing the trees that were on the slope just above the water level. So, the trees are real, and the apparence of the sky is the reflection of the opposite side of the mountains (and sky above the peaks) into the water. The breeze created this "impressionist" texture I liked much. The flat perspective was created by the particular point of view (up-down) and by using a telezoom (70-200 at about 100).

Pattern on water is too good. I am looking at this image from 5-10 mins.. i am not convinced that this image is inverted. Eager to know more :)

Fabri, You are right, inverted image theory does not qualify 100%. Very unique elevation view point and shooting angle. Thank you for sharing. I take my words back :-)

Not reading comments by others and you made me think. After reading them, my thinking was wrong.
Fine seeing here. A b/w rendering would have added further to 'impressionism' ? Thanks for sharing,

Thanks. Indeed, a b/w version of this image has its impact, even if I think that “Impressionism” remains tightly linked to colours.
Anyway, If I should make a print, honestly I would be highly uncertain about the b/w or colour version.

Very well seen image, Fabri! It kind of created an illusion. It took me sometime to realize how this image was made. I also liked the another image(may be at sunset) on your flickr. TFS
