Hi Sahana,
The thumbnail was so misleading. Full image is full of surprises. Love the way the branches and corrugations modulate the space out of which the Barbet is revealed.
Thanks for sharing

Excellent image Sahana. Even without the bird it would have worked well I think. First I thought the stem on the top left corner competes visually but leaving that out seem to weaken the image for some reason. Probably it adds a visual tension to the frame which makes it more interesting. A unique frame indeed and thanks for sharing !

I was actually thinking if a pano crop will make it even beautiful. Wonderful multi-pattern image. The colors, the shades the distribution of the branches and finally the green of the bird provide so much in one frame. Well seen image. Just wondering if a much better composition was possible ?

Lovely image Sahana! The top left of the frame where the coconut leaves are branching out adds a lot to the feel of this image. As Ganesh pointed out this is a winner even without the Barbet. How about loosing some pixels from the bottom and making it a Pano like Nilanjan suggested?

Unique, Sharp and in Color :)
Agree on the visual tension and the composition possibilities..

Coming back...another notable feature here is the absolute lack of depth. The tree looks as if it is printed on the background. I'm at loss to understand this. Would it look the same if the bg was flat?

Nirlep, I think the branch being in the front and in dark is the cause of some of those confusions !

This is very unique Sahana. Very well seen and done. I agree with Nilanjanda's comments... I think a better composition could have been possible.. pano might surely be great. Overall, the idea is a hands down winner.

Thanks all. To relieve your visual tension, I focused Barbet on the branch which was relatively at far distance. Seen through coconut leaves; tree was at the back not in the front. I Agree that different compositions/pano could be tried. But I was in a hurry to witness sunset and my companions were already waiting at the spot. But on my way, Barbet call made me to stop; Coconut tree, relatively closer to me gave a chance to watch out the bird same as in the image.

Here Ganesh ! the image had us foxed till Sahana explained that the tree is in fact in the bg ..well that explains things..Very well seen Sahana and thanks for sharing

Nirlep, my mistake, by branch I did mean the coconut tree branch :) When I saw it second time I thought so due to the presence of dark shadows on the other branch where the bird is sitting. Anyway, an interesting visual here.. :)
