Do I love this Nevil! Simple, effective, adorable. Top views fascinate me no end because there's no depth of field. You have a limited field to capture the third dimension and how beautifully it is done here. Bows.

Lovely angle . Eye contact creates a connect. Tricky tones and exposure well handled

This is actually a brilliant perspective Nevil. The folded wings with the water visible on both sides is really working well.

A very fresh perspective... `BOLD' crop & presentation !

An interesting perspective Nevil, but i am in two minds to see or not that reflection of the beak ? Would it add ? It depends on how you wanted to see as a creator!

thanks everyone for your feedback. indeed, it's a very bold crop, very much unlike me or my other images! .. it was a rare luxury for my set of lenses to find wild-beings so close.

@ RD,
yes, i can see what you mean. it seems to add aesthetically, but here it's helping to add depth. moreover, i avoid doing heavy/selective processing hence that never occurred to me!

thanks again. regards.

lovely perspective. What adds here is the pattern on the wings and feathered body.
Not quite sure about the tight crop, would have loved to see few more pixels at the bottom to give little more space around the beak.
TFS.

The thumbnail was totally incomprehensible only on opening did I get the revelation! Nice bold cropping as others suggest, but I so wish there was a little more space infront of the beak!

Commentby Nevil Zaveri on Fri Mar 22, 2013 5:06 pm

thanks samyak 'n sriharsha for motivating comments 'n suggestion. actually, there was a bridge-column hardly a few inch away from the beak, hence i decided to avoid his back/tail 'n compose this way. this crop is eliminating only blank space on left, to make it square .. and i find this quite ok for my taste buds.

thanks again. regards.

Fantastic Crop!!! Beautifully made photograph!!! The head tilt and the lil waves caused by the bird's motion makes it very interesting. And of course the angle!!! Thanks for sharing :)
