Inner glow
It is a treat to watch Cicadas start their calls in the monsoon, I am lucky that my residence has a quite a number of them and this particular Cicada was at eye level. I found in the rain if a torch was made to hit the transparent wings at a particular angle, the wings came alive with the scattering of light because of the moisture droplets on the wings. Holding a white light torch (fast becoming a favorite) I concentrated on the light pattern in the wings of the Cicada. This one is cropped to keep the focus on the lights within.

Very very unique. At first I thought there were many of them flying. But later on saw the patterns & assume that this is a wing (correct me pls if i'm wrong)???
I second Ganesh - pls write about it so that we could learn the technique.
Full credits for being so experimental here...

VMR, This is brilliant perspective and very Unique.
I liked the idea of torch light to the wings. Every body part of any insect has beautiful reflective surface and we can see them only when we put light on them.

VMR you are pushing the limits of creativity here. Saw this in the morning when you posted it but could not comment on it due a power failure and was waiting the whole day to get online just to see this again and put down my awe to words. What a vision sirji! What a vision!! I must say that you have done your home work really well here, by observing what nature has to offer and by bringing out the best of it.
