this image is of a rare shrew which we photographed at vazhachal range in kerala....i tried to create this image by using the shallow dof of 100mm macro lens by focusing the tip of the nose....

very comical in some ways....wish there were more dew drops in the plane of the nose of the shrew...the radiating "rays" adds charm to the subject....purely from a record pov id also have luvd to see the "animal" in full since its a rare specimen....

brilliant shot! Just cant believe you used a 100mm macro for this shot. Seeing this creature is one thing, photographing it is another, but getting it with a Marco is taking it wholly to another level. Brilliant. The picture has a very unique funny feel to it as Suhas put it

Beautiful image Praveen. Liked the DOF u've chosen. The FG grass blades on the left add to the image. Might wish for some more room on top - just a little bit.

An interesting image Praveen ! Shallow DOF makes it very interesting. Love that tiny droplet on the hair! Wish you could get its face at the center of the frame !

great painterly effect with that dof. love those radiating whiskers and some scattered dew drops in the frame. wished little better composition but you may be bounded by situations.
