Kaipoche: Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (a Hindi film): Shreya Ghoshal & Swaroop Khan: (Duration: 4: 36 minutes):

Note: This song is describing the Kite-flying festival which occurs annually every year on the
14th and 15th of January. It is an extremely popular festival mostly in the states of Gujarat,
Rajasthan and some parts of Maharasthra. There are many terms which are the commonly
used Gujrati slang in this song. 'Kai Po Chhe' literally translates of 'I have cut it'. Its an uproar
in jubiliation which is shouted out when a person cuts another person's kite. 'Dheel Dena' is
letting go of the string, or like letting the string go slack from the Firki(the apparatus that holds
the kite flying string). 'Maanja' is the name given to the special type of the string used to fly kites.
'Lapet' is also shouted out after shouting Kai Po Chhe, which is a taunt that come on now start
pulling up Your string back into Your Firki.
